SC'97 logo Mary Cusack has a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. From there she worked for eight years as a line manager for Procter & Gamble in two of their soap manufacturing plants. She had various roles working for P&G including Finance & Accounting, project planning, logistics and human resources. She left P&G and went back to school to get her MBA from The Wharton School, then got a Masters in Organizational Behavior and Industrial Relations from the University of California at Berkeley.

For the past 3 1/2 years she's been working full-time as a consultant/trainer for various businesses - focusing on team building.

Mary has been a trainer for The Human Element workshop for 10 years. She became involved with this training while working at Procter & Gamble. They saved $10 million on a start-up project using the principles of this training which include telling the truth, being accountable (versus a victim), and increasing self awareness. She got involved with Radical Honesty in 1995, and just recently qualified as a trainer for Radical Honesty.

Taber Shadburne has an MA in Counseling Psychology and has been working as a therapist, teacher and workshop leader since 1989. He is also deeply informed by his practice of Buddhism and meditation (since '85), having spent two years as a full-time resident trainee at a Zen center, and having done many intensive retreats.

He began teaching communication skills, both for Kaiser-Permanente and in private workshops, in 1990. He has completed all the advanced training offered by M. Scott Peck's community building organization, the Foundation for Community Encourgagement, and is applying to be one of their facilitators. Taber also has a B.A. in music.
