Villages

Russ' scenario... The Dolphin Village

Ideas? Ideas it will be, whether or not it comes to fruition.

So here's an idea for a village, but let's not call it a village, instead, let's call it a pod 'cause I think it would be fun to model this after what dolphins do (or what we beleive dolphins to do, anyway).

A bunch of us with a comparable amount of twistedness gather together and build a village some time during Day One of the experiment. We get to know each other in as many ways as each are willing through games and other tools that I have no idea of since, well, what do you think I'm going to this thing for anyhow? Healing and spirituality and communication and sensuality and humor are our foundation.

We spend the whole first night together (maybe two) and drum and do music and dance and maybe burn a few things in effigy (with psychic flames, of course, since fire is verbotten). The next morning (say around 11:00 'cause my pod, like myself, likes to sleep late -- and close) one of us, or a pair or maybe even three if the numbers support it and if there are special gifts that that particular combo can share effectively, go away for that day and become a part of one of the other villages. I mean, really become a part. A part of being part is that the group from our pod also is under the directive (in a gentle way, of course) to heal those they can heal in the other village, and learn from those villagers how to bring new healing methods back to the home pod.

Meanwhile, the rest of the pod breaks camp and moves. We're nomads, get it? Dolphins, and we gots to keep ramblin' on! At nighttime, after a new camp is set up, the exploring group comes back and demonstrates through theatre or whatever, the nuances, differences, strengths, wonders, language, spirituality etc. of the hosting village (which would actually be unsuspecting because, hey, we're dolphins and although we're polite when we show up at the door, we don't exactly make appointments!) to the other members of our pod -- .

The next day, the process repeats, this time with a different set of explorers from our pod going out and a shuffled set taking care of camp.

Miaya's scenario... Lightness of Being Village

I would like to have a village that takes in the joy and lightness of being human. As a group we would gather together in the afternoons and do nude drawing, body painting, improvisational theatre and comedy and maybe even a large mural on one of the barn walls that would be created by all of us. This mural would be this village's gift to the whole camp. As a village we would take a turn doing the the cooking for the camp on one of the days. This meal would be a cooperative celebration for our fellow campers where frivolity and fun would be incorporated into the daily meals. The village would also be a support group for each participant who might need to share any fears, frustrations and perhaps hopefully great joy.

Bill's scenario... The Village of Convergance: the merging of self and community

Emphasis will be put on creating a safe (with capital letters and underlined) environment for me to slip into my intimate community self and be assured I will be able to share it only with people of whom I approve (based on my sense of safety). I want acceptance... yes... but I also want choice above all.

This village will emphasize expansion from the self to community (without losing the self). Questions such as "How would I fit into intimate community (i.e., what are my true requirements)?," and "How do I work on my fear of sharing my self?," and "What the hell am I doing here?" (this question is usually an extension of momentary frustration, and signals a need to re-connect with the basics...something, it seems, we all do).

What is socially unfettered sexuality? How do we practice it? Does it hold the key to a new way of thinking? How do we separate old paradigm sexual attitudes from those we must form to reshape our world?

We will attempt to discover our own concepts of the merging of self and intimate community and how those concepts differ from those being proposed.

Cindi's scenario... Spirituality in nature, movement, song, ritual, dance and play.

I envision that each day and most evenings, all of the villages will gather in the mornings and share or do something together. Then in the afternoons there would be sharing in the wisdom of the circle and dancing, rituals, singing and play until we reach states of Ecstacy and Joy.
