George Lockwood, Ph.D.
has been in private practice in Palo Alto California for the
past 17 years. He is an assistant clinical professor at the University
of California, San Francisco. He has published numerous articles
on the process of changing negative life patterns, and has presented
many workshops, classes, and seminars on this topic to both professionals
and the general public.
George has been exploring the strengths and weaknesses
of a wide range of approaches to psychotherapy over the past 25
years. He will be presenting an integration of these methods
called Schema focused Therapy. It is a comprehensive theory,
addressing many of the most important negative life patterns and
offers a broad range of tools and weapons with which to fight
these patterns.
You will go step by step through diagnostic testing
and an outline of the key strategies for breaking free of long-
standing hurts, damaging beliefs, and negative ways of communicating
that can interfere with the pursuit of a passionate and joyful
life.
You will be guided towards such goals as
- Feeling more deeply understood and cared about by the people closest to you.
- Feeling that at your core you are whole and worthwhile-
that when people truly know you they will love and accept you
as you are.
- Getting more in touch with your needs and more
effectively balancing them with those of others, so that you can
achieve a sense of give and take in your personal and work relationships.
- Achieving a balance between work and play so
that your more basic needs are fulfilled.
