Betty Martin ♥ The Wheel of Desire & Art of Consent
Consent is an art that is way more fun than you think. It is the key to relational and erotic freedom, and includes intention, roles, limits and desires. The practice of it reveals your edges, and develops spiritual integrity. The morning session focuses on the Wheel of Desire - who is giving, who is receiving, why it's not what you think, and how it brings your heart into your hands no matter what you are doing. Clarifying the difference means you can do each of them with a full heart and deep satisfaction. In the afternoon session we will play with the universe of ways to communicate desires and limits. We'll find the fun in it, dissipate the fear of it, and explore opportunities to dip into some soul-satisfying consensual touch. Expect laughter, comfort, and quite possibly a few happy tears.

Dr. Betty Martin, a Chiropractor, is also a Body Electric School trained Sacred Intimate, Certified Sexological Bodyworker, Foundations of Facilitation trainer, and a self-propelled erotic adventurer and intimacy coach in Seattle, WA. More info: www.sacredexploration.com & www.eroticeducation.org

sharon byrd Sharon Byrd ♥ HAI
Where did you learn about love, intimacy and sexuality? What we often don't realize is that our very ideas about these topics may prevent us from fully expressing and receiving love. This presentation from the HAI training will provide experiential opportunities to examine these crucial areas in our lives. Come and join us for a deep dive into intimacy which can powerfully affect your time at Summer Camp.

Sharon believes that we are on this human journey to learn to love, and delights in creating the possibility for others to find expanded ways to dive more deeply into the experience of loving.

Paul Emmet ♥ Sexuality Out of Balance: Community, Acceptance, and Boundaries
This workshop uses the presenter’s experience working with sex-offenders and victims of assault to address issues that affect all of us. By looking at the myths and realities of a group that has often been demonized in our society we can gain a new perspective on our own lives. Paul will share practical advice for dealing with sexual abuse. And there will be an opportunity to heal and transform past hurts in this area. The goal is to create a safe environment to discuss what can be challenging issues, and to empower the participants through knowledge and new perspectives.

Paul is currently teaching sex-offenders skills to avoid re-offending and to make positive changes in their lives. He taught full impact self defense classes with a focus on emotional healing for ten years, and in this process worked with victims of violence. He is a third degree black belt in Aikido and has had 10 years of experience with peer-counseling.

Tree Bressen ♥ Appreciative Inquiry
Appreciative Inquiry is a method for attending to our good experiences, looking at them more deeply, and using what we learn as a basis to create more well-being into the future. Developed in an organizational context, it can also be applied to your relationships with loved ones or with yourself. It's both idealistic and pragmatic. As Don Klein said about it, "The optimist looks at the glass and says it's half full. The pessimist says it's half empty. The Appreciative Inquiry practitioner looks at it and says, 'I wonder how it got half full? Because if we could figure that out, we could get it all the way full!'"

Tree Bressen feels blessed to pursue group facilitation as her calling, using skills learned in the "graduate school of communal living."  Tree's work is based in a desire to support groups putting their ideals into action. For more than a decade she has helped a wide variety of organizations have meetings that are lively, productive, and connecting. More info: www.treegroup.info

How do you connect with yourself or with others?  How do you notice what is going on inside your self or others? The main tenet of Interplay is acknowledging that the mind, body, spirit is ONE.  Shazam will guide participants using Interplay and NVC (Non-Violent Communication aka Compassionate Communication) to create "in the moment" story, dance and song.

Shazam has studied Interplay with founders Phil Porter and Cynthia Winton-Henry and she is a member of their professional InterPlay performance ensemble, Wing It!.  She has studied NVC with its creator, Marshall Rosenberg, and with Miki Kashtan, co-founder of the Bay Area Center for Nonviolent Communication (BayNVC).  Along with engaging in many other life practices, Shazam is able to truly be in touch with the body and navigate through the mind while resting and soaking in the SPIRIT.

Children at Summer Camp

We welcome children at camp and ask that all our campers work with us to create a "Kids" Camp environment where young children and teens thrive. If you are so inclined, there will be ample opportunities to connect meaningfully and creatively with our young people this year as a Kids Dharma Angel. Let us know when you register if you are interested in helping! Also check out out the "Wish List" below to see if you can bring something to camp that kids of all ages will enjoy...

Kids Camp “Wish List” spinstar

Compassion Cadre

cadreSummer Camp is a powerfully transformative experience for many people. Often we find our buttons get pushed, our self-limiting habits are upended, and our stories about who are and who we can be in the world are challenged. Our ideal is to create a community which offers compassion and support for all campers, especially those who are feeling disconnected, unheard, or simply overwhelmed by their camp experience. We also seek to offer a service opportunity to campers who have experience in counseling.

One of the ways we realize this goal of a mutually-supportive and mutually-empowering community is through the Compassion Cadre. The Cadre is composed of camper volunteers. Two designated Cadre volunteers are on duty every day to help meet camper needs for emotional and physical support and well-being by donating their time in one or more of the following areas: empathy and peer counseling, mediation, group process facilitation, and bodywork. The Compassion Cadre is a great way to plug into camp, and a great way to get support when you need it!

Other Camp Events

♥ 7 Minute Connections ♥
In this popular camp event, campers get an opportunity for several spontaneous "dates" of only 7 minutes duration. This event can promote higher levels of transparency, and the spontaneous nature often facilitates unexpected connections. Followed by a Puja.

♥ Aphrodite's Temple
Aphrodite’s Temple is a place for campers to experience the dimensions of sacred sexuality and sexual healing. As in previous years, we'll convert the building on the upper part of the property into a sacred and safe play space for adults who wish to explore healing, intimate touch and the joys of sharing love & pleasure.

♥ Talent Show
Here's your chance to show us your special talent. An evening of family fun with music, poetry, singing, stories, dance, skits, and more. Created by all of us!

♥ Sensual Feast & Dance Party
Imagine tables loaded with sweet and savory treats... But there's a catch - the one rule is that you may not feed yourself! Serving, and being served, are the watchwords of this event. The result is a delicious combination of sensory input: music, movement, people, touch, and yummy treats. Followed by the dance party!

♥ ZEGG Forum ♥
The Forum is a group process developed at ZEGG to provide a stage to express your true motivations, deep feelings, ideas and emotions. The Forum helps facilitate transparency, sharing and clarifying unsolved situations of daily life, and it can be a catalyst for one's own personal growth. For a detailed examination of the development and use of this process at ZEGG, see What is the ZEGG Forum? in the document library on the NFNC.org web site.

♥ Auction ♥
Expect to be amused and surprised by the variety of unusual items and services donated by fellow campers for bidding. Previous auctions have included such offerings as "1000 kisses" and "a morning serenade." Auction proceeds help to provide scholarships and improve future camps.

♥ Open Sessions ♥
Join in as the entire camp self-organizes for an afternoon of concurrent events, inspired by your own passions and interests, all set up within about an hour. Open Sessions are an opportunity for campers to convene dialogue groups on topics they've been wanting to explore, or create group massages, or do a music jam together. If a group doesn't feel fulfilling, participants are encouraged to move to a new one, honoring their instincts and natural enthusiasm. Bring your ideas and inspiration!
